Mutheu Mbondo is an independent arts consultant with a lifelong commitment to bringing the arts to people’s lives in meaningful ways. This commitment has led her to work in the cultural sector for over 10 years with a focus on public art. She has led various initiatives including a pioneer public schools art programme with the partnership of the City Council of Nairobi; administered the first local arts fund, Changamoto, at the Kenya Community Development Foundation and ran an active outreach programme when she worked at Kuona Trust. Mutheu also has experience working internationally and has fundraised to enable the various programmes she has been involved with. She is currently interested in supporting arts organisations towards delivering impactful programmes and working with artists towards greatest visibility and success.
Arterial Network is a dynamic network of individuals, organizations, donors, companies and institutions engaged in the African creative and cultural sector. The Network is a vibrant, dynamic and sustainable African creative civil society sector engaged in qualitative practice in the arts in their own right, as well as in a manner that contributes to development, to human rights and democracy, and to the eradication of poverty on the African continent. Arterial Network works in 5 priority countries in Africa, Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, South Africa and Kenya. The National Secretariat of Kenya is hosted at Kuona Trust Centre for visual arts in Kenya.
