Sane Wadu is considered as one of the pioneers of art in Kenya.

Born in 1954 on the outskirts of Nairobi, Sane Wadu began his painting career in 1983 using household paints, plastic sheets and clothing. This was later replaced by oils on canvas as his career took shape.

Wadu’s paintings portray a mix of both rural and urban life.
