The Exhibition Programme at Kuona
The Exhibition Program at Kuona Trust Art Centre presents lively and informative exhibitions that enhance the public and scholarly awareness and appreciation of the contemporary art scene and the drive towards documentation and archiving of contemporary art.
The Exhibition Program promotes public education about contemporary Kenyan and African art through its creation of interactive exhibitions, multimedia displays, traveling exhibitions, web sites, symposia, films, lectures, and publications. The Program expands the local community’s knowledge about Kuona and its activities though outreach to community groups, schools, universities, and professional groups. The Exhibition Program manages a robust tour program for Kuona Trust visitors, which features special presentations by artists and other art professionals.
In the periods when there is no conceptual exhibition showing, the Kuona gallery hosts a variety of other non-conceptual exhibitions. These keep the space active and ensure that audiences continue to be exposed to a wide variety of art works and projects.
Artists can rent the gallery from a period of 7 to 14 days for as low as Ksh 10,000.
